Common Tasks

  • Opening conveyancing files – including setup of all cards for all applicable parties
  • Preparing initial documents using firm’s precedents;
  • Entering contract dates in LEAP/Practice Management system and assigning tasks
  • Review incoming Conveyancing mail, identify matter and recipient, routing and seeking instruction as required, and saving to file
  • Preparing and sending correspondence in accordance with firm’s procedure
  • Combining enclosures and sending initial letters and documents to parties (bookmarked PDF or as preferred by client)
  • Preparing EFT request for payments required and attending to firm’s authorisation process
  • Phones call to client, council, banks, other party’s lawyer, body corporate etc in relation to settlement
  • Order all necessary searches
  • Calculate settlement figures and cheque directions for approval by solicitor.
  • Liaise with all parties to arrange settlement
  • Prepare workspace in PEXA and enter settlement figures for approval by solicitor
  • Preparing invoices
  • Archiving matters
